If you missed the Toledo Museum of Art Block Party on September 9, 2023, you missed a lot of fun. The annual event, which is free and open to the public, attracted thousands of people to the museum grounds and galleries for a night of art, music, and entertainment. This year, the theme was 50 Years of Hip-Hop. The museum invited none other than DJ Spinderella, Grammy award-winning DJ, producer, rapper, and writer, who was part of the legendary group Salt-N-Pepa.

DJ Spinderella rocked the main stage on the Monroe Street Terrace with her mix of classic and contemporary Hip Hop hits. The crowd was hyped and danced along to her tunes, which included some of her songs like “Push It” and “Shoop”.

DJ Spinderella was not the only attraction at the block party. There were also plenty of art activities, performances, and demonstrations throughout the museum.
The Toledo Museum of Art Block Party was a huge success and a great way to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop culture. It also showcased the museum’s commitment to engaging the community and making art accessible to everyone.
