Wednesday, I had the pleasure of spending a delightful morning at The Toledo Zoo with my mom during their Senior Discovery Days. Not only did we have the opportunity to connect with the amazing animals at the zoo, but we also discovered a range of senior perks that made our visit even more enjoyable. If you have friends or family members who are 60 years old or better, make sure to share this with them – they’re in for a treat! ❤️

From now until October 25th, seniors can take full advantage of FREE admission and a variety of activities every Wednesday. But that’s not all; throughout October, seniors aged 60 and better can enjoy a host of fantastic benefits from Mondays to Fridays:
- Free Parking: You can park for free in the Anthony Wayne Trail & Broadway parking lots, making your visit hassle-free.
- Complimentary Coffee & Mini-Muffin: Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., head over to Timberline Bakery for a free small coffee and mini-muffin – the perfect way to kickstart your zoo adventure!
- Gift Shop Discounts: Senior visitors can relish a 15% discount on merchandise at the zoo’s gift shops, allowing you to take home some memorable souvenirs.
- Membership Savings: Looking to become a zoo member? Seniors get a fantastic 20% discount on memberships when purchased at the Membership Sales window.
- Giraffe Feeding Discount: Don’t miss out on the chance to feed the giraffes! Seniors receive a $1 discount on either individual or family baskets at the Giraffe feed deck.
- Free Admission on Wednesdays: Wednesdays are extra special for seniors – admission is entirely free!

In addition to these wonderful perks, there are some exciting events happening in October:
October 11th: Join in the fun with a unique twist on BINGO, Zoo-style! Games will take place in the Malawi Event Center from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Please note that there is limited capacity, so it’s first come, first served.
October 18th: Dive into the world of reptiles with a guided tour of the Zoo’s WA Reptile House. Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes view of the Zoo’s reptile collection. The tour begins at 11 a.m. inside the Reptile House.
October 25th: Uncover the mysteries lurking beneath the water as you participate in a Keeper talk and Q&A with the Aquarium staff in the renovated WA-era Aquarium. Meet at the Aquarium at 11 a.m. for an unforgettable experience.
So, if you’re looking for an enriching and enjoyable outing for yourself or your senior loved ones, The Toledo Zoo’s Senior Discovery Days are the perfect choice. Make the most of these amazing opportunities and create lasting memories at one of Toledo’s most treasured destinations.
