Conquering My Fears: Rappelling 16 Stories for a Good Cause

What a wild and crazy afternoon! I recently had the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and face my fear of heights by rappelling 16 stories down a Toledo skyscraper. All in all, it was an exhilarating and rewarding experience that I’ll never forget.

The Challenge and the Cause:

This daring adventure was part of the Over the Edge fundraising campaign, where participants rappel down tall buildings to raise money for charity. In my case, I was rappelling to support the Victory Center, a local organization dedicated to helping cancer patients and survivors.

Facing My Fears:

I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous as I suited up and prepared to step off the edge of the building. But with the incredible support and encouragement from the Over the Edge team, my parents, my rappelling partner, Doug (IG @thedougiefresh), and everyone cheering me on from the ground, I was able to overcome my fear and complete the challenge.

The Rewards:

The feeling of accomplishment I experienced after successfully rappelling was indescribable. It was a moment of personal triumph that I’ll cherish forever. But the greatest reward was knowing that I was contributing to a worthy cause and helping to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients.

A Call to Action:

If you’re looking for a unique and challenging way to give back to your community, I highly recommend participating in an Over the Edge event. It’s an unforgettable experience that will push you beyond your limits and leave you with a sense of accomplishment.

So, what are you waiting for? Step outside your comfort zone, face your fears, and make a difference!
