Wednesday night, I had the pleasure of dining at The Standard, a hidden gem in the heart of Toledo. This chef-owned restaurant has only been open for six months, but it’s already making waves in the local food scene.
The moment I stepped into The Standard, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance. The restaurant’s stylish decor and warm lighting created a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home.
We started our meal with a delicious appetizer of Pan-Fried Feta Cheese, served with fermented honey everything spice and garlic ciabatta. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. We also tried the Crab Cake, which was made with fresh blue crab and a flavorful aïoli. It was one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had! We couldn’t resist ordering the Fried Pickles. They were crispy, flavorful, and the perfect way to start our amazing meal.
For our entrees, I ordered the 16-ounce Ribeye with chimichurri, which was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy, and the chimichurri was the perfect complement. My mom ordered the Short Rib, which was incredibly tender and served on a bed of creamy polenta. Both dishes were absolutely delicious.
The Standard also has an impressive selection of cocktails and wines. I tried their signature Standard Fashioned, an Old Fashioned made with their own hand-selected barrel proof bourbon. It was very nice.
Overall, my experience at The Standard was exceptional. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect. If you’re looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience in Toledo, I highly recommend checking out The Standard.
