Macy’s Culinary Council with Iron Chef Marc Forgione

October was a pretty awesome month for me! I have had the opportunity to meet some really amazing chefs! I have even met some celebrity chefs! Last weekend I met an Iron Chef! Yes! A Food Network Iron Chef!! Last weekend, Macy’s Culinary Council came to Atlanta! We had the honor of having Season 3 Next Iron Chef winner, Marc Forgione, to cook for us. I was pretty excited.

As an added bonus, members of the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society had the opportunity to sit down for a personal interview with the Iron Chef Champion. In a very laid back chat we found out quite a bit about Chef Forgione.

-He just opened, American Cut, an upscale steakhouse located in the Shops of Buckhead. He described it as a “big beautiful castle.”

-Developers of The Shops Buckhead, who had eaten at the American Cut location in New York, approached Chef Forgione about opening one in Atlanta.

– His favorite spice to cook with is Black Pepper.

Now it was time to enjoy the delicious cuisine of an Iron Chef! We started the with Chef Forgione’s take on Chicken and Waffles, Fried Quail and Waffles. On top, he drizzled some Rosemary Ginger Infused Honey. Yummy!!!

Next we had Meatballs with 10 Minute Tomato Sauce. The meatball was made with beef, pork, and veal. I just wanted to taste it, since I don’t eat beef or pork, but I ended up eating the whole thing! đź‘€ It was soo good!

For the delicious grand finale, Chef Forgione presented us with the most divine chocolate cake I’ve had in a long time. The icing was awesome. I usually can’t stand icing. I could have eaten a bowl of it!

With a grand ending, the event was over. Now guest were able to meet and greet as well as get his newest self titled cookbook, Marc Forgione Recipes and Stories From the Acclaimed Chef and Restaurant, signed. Chef Forgione was super awesome and gave my daughter, Sage, a cookbook of her own. She was beyond excited!  The event was pretty great!
