Yesterday, after months of anticipation, Atlanta Streets Alive returned. Streets were blocks off to cars for four hours through and around the Historic Old West End area. People walked, biked, and scooted through the streets. They were also able to participate in various activities encouraging people to get out the house and be active. There was a nice artist market where you could purchase handmade items. Atlanta Jazz Festival joined Music in the Park to bring amazing performances by local jazz musicians and artists. I really enjoyed seeing people out with their families taking advantage of the beautiful weather and this fantastic event.
If you missed this one, don’t worry. Atlanta Streets Alive will be back next month on May 18, 2014. This route will take on Peachtree in downtown Atlanta. Put it on your calendars people!
