CalaBar & Grill

Last week, my daughter and I went to one of the Atlanta Science Festival event at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. We got to the Stone Mountain area early enough to grab something to eat. Not being to familiar with the area, I used my Yelp and Scoutmob Apps find CalaBar & Grill. The menu looked very appetizing and the reviews were great. Works for me. When we arrived they had just opened for business. We walked in and was immediately greeted and was told that we could sit at any table. After a very short wait, our waitress came with water and to ask any questions we may have had. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Pasta (Sliced jerk chicken breast, green bell pepper and mushroom tossed in a rich parmesan cream sauce) as well as an order of plantains. My daughter ordered Fish Tacos and Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

Everything was very tasty. Not only was the portions huge for the Jerk Chicken Pasta, but the it’s very flavorful. There was a little kick of spice which paired well with the sweetness of the plantains. The fish tacos were also delicious. I really enjoyed how light and crunchy they were. The slaw that was in the taco gave it a nice tropical feel. The mashed potatoes were amazing! I could have eaten the whole bowl by myself.

With great food and stellar service my first visit to CalaBar Grill was a success. I will definitely come back to try other menu items and to check out various events they have throughout the week.
