Southern Art and Bourbon Bar America’s Best 75 Bourbon Bars 2015

In 2007, Congress declared the month of September National Bourbon Heritage Month. Since then, bourbon bars have popped up all over the United States with its ever so growing popularity. In 2013, The Bourbon Review, compiled their first list of Top Bourbon Bars in America with just 55 establishments. This years’ list included 75 Bourbon Bars.

“Using criteria that took into account selection, education, events and determination to open a Bourbon hot-spot in a region, where one didn’t exist, we came up with what we consider are the best 75 Bourbon Bars in America.”
-The Bourbon Review

Wednesday, Southern Art and Bourbon Bar celebrated their recognition of America’s 75 Best Bourbon Bars, with a private event hosted by Four Roses Bourbon. The celebration was complete with bourbon cocktails and delicious bites from Southern Art.

We also enjoyed a bourbon tasting featuring Red Roses Bourbon. Four Roses Bourbon has a long history dating back to the 1860s. Today, this award winning Bourbon, continues its legacy by being named American Whisky Distiller of the Year 2015 by Whisky Magazine. Thursdays tasting included their Single Barrel, Small Batch, and Yellow Bourbon. Each one proving their expertise in “quality handcrafted bourbon.”

To top this amazing event off, there was dessert! First we were presented with Bourbon Cake Pops! They were oh so good. But the star of the dessert portion of the meal was the Bourbon Pecan Pie. Yes! Bourbon Pecan Pie. When this pie made its grand entrance everyone stopped and admired its glory. It just looked amazing! And it was. The pecans were hearty, the filling not too sweet, and crust flaky. Perfection! I’ll be back very soon to get another slice.

Once again, congratulations to Southern Art Bourbon Bar on being named America’s 75 Best Bourbon Bars! Much gratitude to Red Roses Bourbon for the invitation to this great event.
