Last year a major shift occurred in my household. All of a sudden we were all at home all day for several months. All of the eating out budget shifted to the grocery fund. Grocery shopping became a daunting task and delivery and curbside services soon became our best friend.
After several months of scouring the internet for new and interesting meals to cook at home, many are simply tapped out and need fresh dish inspirations. Many have returned to work and not only lack the time to prepare a healthy meal but also the time to grocery shop. If this all sounds a little too familiar, Perfectly Imperfect Produce has a service to give you a much-needed break as well as a new at-home dining experience.
Ohio-based company, Perfectly Imperfect Produce recently launched Diced & Easy, a new meal kit delivered to your doorstep with fresh meal inspirations. Perfectly Imperfect Produce rescues imperfect fruits and vegetables from local Ohio farms and wholesalers that may be a bit blemished but still fresh.
A registered dietitian then develops a delicious recipe that is included with every meal with all of the ingredients already sliced, diced, and pre-measured. No more meal prepping or trying to figure out what’s for dinner! The meal kits accommodate many eating lifestyles including vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free.
The recipes are very easy to follow as well. It’s a great way to get your kids involved with dinner. The best part about Diced & Easy is that every meal kit can be prepared in 30 minutes or less! More time to spend time with your family!!
Diced & Easy also offers six pre-made salads, five pre-made grain bowls, fruit & veggie snack-on-the-go cups, and fruit-infused waters. All of which are perfect for lunch and picnics in the park. I had the opportunity to try the Farmer’s Market Salad and the Tuscan Salad. Both were very fresh and had the perfect salad dressing to accompany them. I also sampled two of their grain bowls, the Kale and Wild Rice Bowl and the Chickpea Curry Grain Bowl. I loved both! The Kale and Wild Rice Bowl was my favorite. The flavor combination was so on point!
My box also included a fresh fruit snack cup and a carrot snack cup. My daughter and I snacked on them while we were preparing dinner. Those carrots were so crisp and sweet!

My Diced & Easy meal kit included the Tropical Black Bean Rice Bowl. It came with some fresh diced peppers, tropical salsa, fresh cilantro, two ears of corn on the cob, one avocado, one lime, organic black beans, whole grain brown rice, and seasoning. The instructions were super easy and saved so much time in the kitchen! It literally took 20 minutes to prepare! And it was delicious! The veggies were very fresh and the salsa was nice and bright tasting. And again it was so EASY to prepare!! Diced & Easy is definitely a game-changer in the kitchen!
Tropical Black Bean Rice Bowls
Cook Time: 20 minutes
1/2 cup brown rice
1 Tbsp cooking oil
6 oz tri-color pepper, diced
2 oz corn off the cob
14.5 oz can black beans
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Juice of 1 lime
Salt to taste
.25 oz cilantro, chopped
3 oz tropical salsa
Heat cooking oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the bell peppers. Slice the corn off the cob and add to the skillet. Sauté for three minutes. Drain and rinse the black beans, then add to the pan along with the cumin, garlic powder, and paprika and cook for two minutes more, stirring often. Stir in lime juice and salt to taste then, fold in cilantro.
Microwave rice according to package instructions. Divide rice and two bowls and top with black bean combo. Serve topped with sliced avocado, the salsa, and extra lime wedges.
This delicious meal was delivered to my home, pre-prepped, and included this very easy recipe! As a homeschool mom who also works from home, this service that Diced & Easy provides is so valuable when it comes to the amount of time I spend with my daughter. It was nice to spend a very small amount of time preparing dinner, then having more time to sit and talk to my daughter over dinner. Even more convenient is that the meal came straight to my doorstep.
“6 Billion Pounds of Produce Are Wasted Due to “Imperfections”. Supermarkets reject fruits and veggies that are unique in size, shape, or color to meet consumer demand for perfection. It’s part of the reason our country throws away 40% of the food we produce, which ends up in landfills where it turns to methane — a greenhouse gas 100 times more potent than carbon monoxide. When 21% of our water, 18% of our land, and 10% of our energy is used to grow our country’s food, that’s an awful lot of resources to be wasting. Especially when 41 million Americans are food insecure.” -Perfectly Imperfect
In addition to being so convenient, I love Diced & Easy’s mission of sustainability. They recognize the problem of food waste in America and are doing their part to end this issue while improving healthy food access for all.
Diced & Easy is currently available in all of Northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and Youngstown, as well as Columbus, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Dayton.
