35th Annual Sunday in the Park at The Historic Oakland Cemetery

A couple Sundays ago The Historic Oakland Cemetery held its 35th Annual Sunday in the Park. It was a beautiful day in the Atlanta, so my daughter and I headed down to the Victorian inspired street festival to see what it was all about. The first activity that grabbed our attention was a group of ladies from the Atlanta Chapter of the International Old Lacers making lace. Wow! It was amazing to watch. They even gave my daughter a quick lesson. She caught on very quickly and even asked to go back to make some more lace. The entire cemetery was alive with activities for the whole family. There was an artist market, an antique car contest, a Victorian Era costume contest, live music, clowns, high tea, and walking tours. There was a lot going on! It was great family event and I look forward to the next one.

All proceeds from this family-friendly event benefit the Historic Oakland Foundation.
