Tonight, Issa Rae stopped in Atlanta on her book tour for The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. The very special event took place at the beautiful Alliance Theater in Midtown. She had her fans laughing as she read excepts out of her best selling book. The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl is a collection of essays of dealing with being awkward in various situations. Following the reading was a discussion moderated by author and playwright, Pearl Cleage. As I sat there listening and laughing, thoroughly entertained. I thought, I need Issa Rae on my best friend team. Lol! It’s possible. I was a fan on hers from the very first episode of The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl on YouTube.
