Today was a very good day! I love Saturdays in Atlanta. Especially in the Spring! There is always a lot to do. Sometimes too much! Point is you should never get bored in this city. And if you do happen to get bored, come see me! I’ll steer you in the right direction.
Today I started my day at the 13th Annual Kirkwood Spring Fling. There at Bessie Branham Park, I enjoyed the artists market, live music, and eats from local vendors. It was a beautiful to be out enjoying the festival.
I also won a free tote bag from The Factory Press! They posted on their Instagram page that the first person to come to their booth with the name of their favorite cartoon win a tote. So I high stepped over there and told the
that my favorite cartoon was Jem and won! It’s so cute!
Next on the agenda was the Taste of the Highlands. It took place at John Howell Park and feature the best neighborhood eats and sips from Virginia Highlands. All proceeds benefited The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. There was so much great food to eat! Here are my favorites!
Mi Cocina ~ Shrimp Ceviche (my favorite!)
Grain ~ Spicy Fried Chicken ( It was really yummy and they won people’s choice!)
Lure ~ Lobster Roll (So good!!)
Next, I decided find some free art. If you’re ever in Atlanta, search the hashtag #fafatl (free art for atl) on twitter and instagram. Local artist all over Atlanta use that hashtag to let their followers that they have dropped a piece to be claimed by the first person to find it. Why wouldn’t anyone want to participate in the ongoing scavenger hunt? I love it. The anticipation to getting to the location first only to see someone find it just seconds before your arrival. It’s happen to me but it’s all in fun! Today I found one piece on the Atlanta Beltline!
I claimed it and then dropped some art of my own! It’s the cute tree to the right of the tiny door. I know! A Tiny Door! I believe there are 6 Tiny Doors in Atlanta. It was my first time seeing one in person. Its so cute!
Again it was a beautiful day in Atlanta so while I was on the Beltline I took a stroll.
Looks like a wonderful weekend! And that tiny door! It’s so cool!
Wow! This looks like so much fun! Especially the part about finding free art. It sounds like such an adventure! These are beautiful photos, too! 🙂
Thanks! I love this free art movement going on in Atlanta. So many talented artists participate too!
