When I decided to come visit my parents in Toledo, I knew I wanted to explore my hometown a bit. I was very excited to see that an exhibit I had been eyeing for a while had made a stop at the Toledo Museum of Art.
New York based, portrait painter, Kehinde Wiley was in Toledo with his exhibit, A New Republic. These amazing portraits beautifully captures everyday people and puts them in place of European aristocrats of Old Master portraits. The painting are so awesome! They draw you in with their vivid colors and the yearning to know more about the people in the paintings. They are just plain breathtaking! Definitely check this exhibit out if you’re in the Toledo area. It’s a MUST SEE!
