{ Chez } Montier Spring Media Dinner | An Evening of Culinary Excellence

This time a few weeks ago, I was headed to Leaning Ladder Premium Olive Oil & Vinegar to enjoy the exquisite cuisine of Chef Juan Montier. When my daughter and I arrived, we were warmly greeted by Chef Montier and his family. I was really feeling the love. I knew then that it was going to be a great night. While we waited for the rest of guests to arrive, Chef Montier surprised us with a bonus appetizer. A little taste of awesomeness to get us excited about what was to come. This spoon held the most flavorful bite of food you could imagine. Curry Shrimp with golden raisins mingling in the mix. Very tasty!

Shortly after taking our first delicious bite, Chef Montier asked my daughter if she could assist him in the kitchen. She dropped everything and very swiftly and with a huge smile joined him behind the counter. With this gesture, Chef Montier gained a lifetime fan. Of course it did help that his food was amazing! Also assisting in this grand feast was his wife, Judith, and son, Austin. It was a family effort and it was beautiful to watch. Come with me as I reminisce about Chez Montier’s Spring Media Dinner.

Themed Cocktail

“Saketinis” Garnished with Lychee Fruit and Honey Ginger Balsamic Vinegar

We officially started our Spring Media Dinner with a very tasty cocktail! The Honey Ginger Balsamic Vinegar provided by Leaning Ladder Premium Olive Oil & Vinegar added a nice uniqueness to this seriously good cocktail.

Appetizer

Crab “Fingers” Tossed in a Wasabi Roumalade and Drizzled with Tuscan Herb Olive Oil

These little Crab “Fingers” were a major hit with my daughter and I. They were so awesome. I won’t tell how many I ate.

Salad

Arugula, Aparagus and Whole Bamboo Shoots with Sesame Olive Oil Ginger Dressing

This salad made it to my top 10 list of favorite salads. You can imagine how many salads I’ve eaten just in two years of food blogging alone. A lot. There have been some very memorable ones and some not so much. This salad was an eyes roll into the back of your head kind of salad. Just a great fresh, bright, spring salad. I wish I was eating one right now.

As the main course was being prepared, our awesome co-host, chef, and fellow food blogger, Melissa of Front Porch Gourmet, gave us a tour of the Leaning Ladder. This place is where you would want go for all of your olive oil and balsamic vinegar needs. Their selection is pretty awesome!

Main Course

Yucca and Potato Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass with a Wild Mushroom Wontons in a Miso Broth with Seared Sea Scallops, Turned Carrots and Sesame Sautéed Field Greens Flanked by a Whole Roasted Crawfish Finished with a Drizzle of Garlic Olive Oil

Wow!! Did you read that description?? It just sounds so wonderful! And it was! So many layers of flavor! Delicious!!

Sweeties

Honey Sweetened Ginger and Lemon Granita Bathed with Sicilian Lemon Balsamic Vinegar

How do you end a most fabulous dinner? With a delightful dessert of course! And how very delightful it was. Notes of ginger and lemon came through to balance this amazing meal out properly.

Such a great dinner!! Chef Montier’s talents are like no other. If you would like an unique culinary experience curated by Chef Juan Montier visit www.chezmontier.com
