Friday Night At The Atlanta Fair

The Atlanta Fair is in town!! I can’t remember the last time I even been to the fair! Well I went tonight and had a most awesome time! I brought Sage and our partners in crime Leslie and Din to join in on the fun. We had sooooo much fun!! The rides were great. A few kinda scary but I survived! Yay!

We got on almost all the rides tonight. Sage got on a Ferris wheel for the first time. She screamed the whole time. Lol!!! I was a little uneasy about the ride to but I’m kinda a chicken when it comes to high rides. Lol! My eyes were closed most of the time. There was a few pretty intense ride like the Spaceship 2000. It was also my favorite. It’s that ride that you get in and it spins around so fast that you stick to the walls. That was fun! Lots of laughs were had tonight. What a great night! The Atlanta Fair will be up till April 2, 2017. Grab some tickets and take your family!

Get To Know High Museum of Art Highball Competitor, Greta Buccellato {5Church Atlanta}

Photo Credit: Gannon

Thursday, I traveled down to Midtown to meet another competitor in the High Museum of Art’s mixology competition, Highball. Greta Buccellato will be representing 5Church Atlanta as she presents a delicious cocktail inspired by the beauty of lavender. As I arrived to the restaurant, I stepped through the doors and was instantly in awe at how amazing it was. There was writing all over the ceiling. I didn’t know what it said, but it seemed pretty intense. Later I was informed that over the course of 3 months an artist very patiently wrote the entire Art of War book on the ceiling. Wow! With such a dramatic atmosphere, you can’t help be inspired in some way.

When Greta arrived, I instantly felt like I had met her before. The previous week was extremely busy for me. I had attend two other competitions last week, one of which was one she had participated in. I had actual took her picture that night with her beautiful cocktail. With that I was excited to start the interview.

Marietta, Georgia native, Greta Buccellato, started bartending 9 years ago drawn to the life of money, alcohol, and a nonstop party. She started her career in dive bars around town, constantly fine tuning her skills, leading to her current home at 5Church. When she’s not mixing craft cocktails at 5Church, you can find her “in the kitchen, f@$king around with herbs and syrups” making soaps for online store, Southern Pandemonium. This mixologist never stops creating! Snag a ticket to Highball to get a taste of her latest creation!

Today I headed to Buckhead to meet with Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse bartender, Bryan Holmes. This Saturday, Bryan will be competing in Highball, the High Museum of Art’s first ever mixology competition. This Atlanta native, comes to the competition with 21 years of bartending under his belt. He started his road to mixologist, at Ippolittos, when someone didn’t show up for work and was asked to fill in. 21 years later Bryan is representing Davio’s in a most epic competition on February 18th.

During my visit Bryan made me The B & B, a cocktail he made on the fly when PR reps came into the restaurant requesting a cocktail for National Ice Tea Month. It was so good it was added to the menu. You can’t go wrong with whiskey, basil, blueberries, and ice tea!  Delicious!!
